Sex Matters in a Developing Relationship

Talking with your new partner about first time sex can be difficult to do.  This workshop addresses the idea of being sexually healthy in a comprehensive way.  Sex Matters in A Developing Relationship invites participants to spend some time working on common challenge points in a developing relationship.

Find Someone Who…
Don’t sit down!  For starters, participants will meet each other to find out about the other participants’ personal stories and experiences while practicing conversation starters and follow up questions. 

Drawing Your Line
We move on to defining and describing different ways in which people are intimate.  Participants will evaluate risky and non-risky behaviors and decide where they will draw the line.  

Communication about Sex
Finally, participants will develop ways of communicating with their partners about sex.

Time permitting, we will conclude with the array sexually healthy questions one might ask him/herself before becoming sexual with a new partner.

Presenter:
Mary Buxton, LCSW, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, has a private practice in psychotherapy in Campbell, CA.  She has 25 years counseling experience with individuals and couples and specializes in sex and couple therapy.  She has worked with shyness, self-esteem and social skill development in individual and group therapy sessions.  She also works with anxiety, depression, grief, parenting, divorce, assertion, work related issues, recovery from abuse and adjustment to change in personal or professional life.
